The Gifted Child started in a pushcart
in the West Stockbridge, Massachusetts marketplace on
Memorial Day Weekend 1981.
In the fall of that year we moved into a storefront in Lenox,
Massachusetts, sharing space with the Purple Plume. Soon,
we outgrew that space and moved across the street to 69 Church
Street and stayed two years before acquiring, and renovating
our present building at 72 Church Street.
Our Great Barrington store opened in the Barrington House
on Main Street in 1994, and then moved into our Railroad Street
store in May of 1996.
